Federation Policy

This instance federates with most instances in the fediverse while maintaining community safety:

• Standard Community Block Lists - We use established community blocklists to prevent harassment and spam
• Defederation as Last Resort - We prefer limiting individual users/communities over instance-wide blocks
• Transparent Moderation - Federation decisions are documented and can be appealed
• Community Safety Priority - Protecting our nomad community takes precedence over absolute federation

Content Archiving and Research Policy

Content posted on this instance has the following restrictions:

• AI Training Prohibited - Content may not be used for machine learning or AI training purposes without explicit user consent
• Academic Research - Legitimate academic research requires prior approval and anonymization
• Normal Archiving Permitted - Standard web archiving (Internet Archive, etc.) and indexing for search purposes is allowed
• User Control - Users can request removal from archives where technically feasible

Data Export and Portability

Users can export their complete account data including:

• Profile information and settings
• Community subscriptions and blocks
• Saved posts and comments
• Personal preferences and configurations

Exported data is provided in JSON format compatible with other PieFed and Lemmy instances.

Legal Jurisdiction

This service is hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. In case of legal conflicts:

• Primary Jurisdiction - Dutch law and EU regulations (GDPR) take precedence
• Community Guidelines - Instance rules supplement but cannot override applicable law
• Content Removal - We comply with lawful removal requests from Dutch authorities

Content Licensing

Content posted by users remains owned by the original authors:

• User Ownership - You retain copyright of your original content
• Federation License - By posting, you grant permission for content to be federated to other ActivityPub instances
• Platform License - You grant this instance a non-exclusive license to display, store, and transmit your content as part of the service
• Takedown Rights - You can delete your content at any time, though federated copies may persist on other instances

• Server maintenance is automated with regular backups
